Heritage Collection Skirting & Architrave:
Heritage Doors & Floors LTD manufacture and sell the heritage collection solid skirting and architrave range. We have 5 different moulds which are availaible. Bullnose, chamfer, ogee, torus and ovolo. You can see the different moulds on the pictures above. We also manufacture the solid skirting and architrave in different species of timber. Solid oak, walnut, ash, maple, brown & white maple and red cherry. The skirting and architrave is a solid product and is available in a 20mm thickness as well as different widths to choose from. Heritage Classic Skirting & Architrave:
Heritage Doors & Floors LTD also manufacture and sell the heritage classic solid oak skirting and architrave. This is only available in solid american white oak. The classic collection enables you to have the skirting at 19mm thick and has various widths and moulds available. The solid oak is available in rustic or a prime grade, please see below for the descriptions.
Solid Rustic Oak Grade Skiting and Architrave:
Some oak boards may contain a few small knots, while other oak baords may contain larger rustic knots, which may require some filling. The overall colour of the rustic oak grade is a warm brown but light sapwood and some mineral colour are allowed.
The oak boards may contain some or all of the following features:-
Small and large knots, cracked knots, burrs, colour variation, an occasional crack and smallish holes. Some filling may be necessary. The overall effect shows a pleasing scattering of knots and a little colour variation.
Solid Prime Oak Grade Skirting and Architrave:
The prime oak grade boards show faint natural grain patterns and very few knots. The colour of the prime grade is a warm brown less mineral colour is allowed. The oak boards contain few small thumb nail size knots while some boards are clear. The overall effect shows the oak as a warm pleasing colour with natural close grain patterns.
Solid Walnut Skirting and Architrave:
The Heritage Collection skirting and architrave is available in the walnut species of timber aswel. The walnut skirting and architrave is only available in a prime finish, which means very few knots are visible through out the timber. The dark coloured hardwood, walnut, is a dark chocolate brown to deep brown/purple colour. The lighter coloured sapwood is almost cream/white in colour when the log is fresh sawn. The walnut has a nice grain pattern and finished very well.
Solid Red Cherry Skirting and Architrave:
The Heritage Collection skirting and architrave is available in solid red cherry. It is available in a prime finish, so very few knots are visible. The american red cherry colour grading is red with a mix of yellow sapwood and red heartwood. Overall the colour is a beautiful warm red colour which will gradually darken with age to a deep rich colour. The lighter coloured sapwood is slighly red to a creamy orange colour.
Solid Ash Skirting and Architrave:
The Heritage Collection skirting and architrave is available in the solid ash. It is a prime finish, so few few knots are visible in the boards. The wood from the ash tree has an open grain pattern, the ash machines and finishes beautifully leaving a smooth ash finish. There is a distinct colour difference between the lighter white coloured sapwood and the browner colour heartwood.
Solid Maple Skirting and Architrave:
The Heritage Collection skirting and architrave is available in solid white maple and brown & white maple. The wood from the hard maple tree is relatively dense and hard with a tight grain pattern. It machines and finishes beautifully leaving a very smooth finish. Maple is a relatively hydroscopic wood with an open cell structure.
